Kara Swisher Says She’s ‘Fixated’ On Trump’s ‘Clear Cognitive Decline’

Tech podcaster Kara Swisher told Substack host Jim Acosta that she’s “fixated” on President Donald Trump’s “cognitive decline,” which she says is “clear” in his recent missteps and gaffes.

Trump’s second term has featured increased chatter about his cognitive abilities, and the issue has bubbled up anew over a recent string of gaffes that include a lengthy yarn about Ted Kaczynski — the Unabomber — and his uncle that defied temporal mechanics.

On Wednesday’s episode of The Jim Acosta Show, Swisher brought up the issue when Acosta asked about Trump’s latest tantrum about the “Epstein Files,” and returned to the topic again at the end of the interview:

JIM ACOSTA: You know, the Jeffrey Epstein hoax. Nobody believes this. Nobody buys this. His own supporters don’t buy this. Marjorie Taylor Greene doesn’t buy this, Mike Johnson, the speaker doesn’t buy this, what is your sense of this? What is going on?

KARA SWISHER: Well, I still, I’m sort of fixated on his cognitive decline, which I think is just clear. I mean, just–.

JIM ACOSTA: It’s real.

KARA SWISHER: Listen to me, listen, he? He? He wasn’t important life? Whatever that sentence was? Was strange.

JIM ACOSTA: We have that sound by two, which we can play as well.

KARA SWISHER: Um you know i you know he’s he’s like a– you know biden was kind of the old guy in the nursing home who sort of creaks around and looks older but he’s a little more with it, like has a hard time getting to the to the salad bar?

And he’s the vibrant one who’s who’s just as gone um who’s yelling about the lack of pie. You know what i mean? Like and there’s still a similar thing.

So he’s got a lot of vibrancy but if you compare his– just even a year ago or two years three years ago, it’s crazy the amount of cognitive decline.

So I think he doesn’t know what to do here.

KARA SWISHER: The problem is these, he he’s reaping what he has sown here with this. Now, that said, yeah, he might be able to shut it down. I’m really fascinated to see if he can do it. I watching him try.

JIM ACOSTA: That– he has been trying.

KARA SWISHER: And I’m trying like, I think that the move right now, it looks like online at least, is this is a made up file. We have now found out it’s actually made by Comey and Obama. And.

JIM ACOSTA: Yeah, what is that bullshit?

KARA SWISHER: My uncle who died in 1985. Like that whole thing. I see again, cognitive decline there. That was like, that’s like an old person telling you know, my cousin was– did the Unabomber or my uncle did the– I was like

JIM ACOSTA: Well, he was saying that last night. He was talking about the Unabomber and it’s not true.

KARA SWISHER: His uncle died. His uncle actually was a very well it was– very competent in that but was dead before the Unabomber.
