Megyn Kelly and guest Michael Shellenberger tore into climate change activists in the latest episode of her podcast — Shellenberger calling the movement a “religion for secular, Western elites.”

Kelly invited Shellenberger, author of Apocalypse Never, to Monday’s episode of The Megyn Kelly Show — the two slamming activists for “climate alarmism.”

She first took issue with President Joe Biden’s warning that, “climate change will threaten, literally, the existence of our planet if we don’t take global action.” Kelly then went after Greta Thunberg, mocking the activist for her iconic “how dare you” speech.

“It’s ridiculous and sad and also, as a reflection of the state of the news media, there was no fact-checking, there was no correction on that, there was no Washington Post story on that,” Shellenberger added of Biden’s climate claim.

Shellenberger had previously taken issue with Biden’s speech, focusing on the president’s use of the word “literally,” and pointing to the fact that the planet itself will still exist despite climate change.

“It just tells you the extent to which climate change has become a religion for secular, Western elites,” he added, claiming that the three factors playing into “apocalyptic environmentalism”  are “money, power, and religion.”

He dubbed the movement “something to feel morally superior about” — adding that rich people now want to be admired for their money and for being green.

Kelly then questioned how many times “people like John Kerry” needed to get climate change wrong before those in their “cult” would stop following them.

She then faulted activists for using natural disasters, such as the California wildfires, as proof that climate change exists and as a reason for businesses, communities, and individuals to make environmentally friendly changes.
