Megyn Kelly Declares Met Gala Is ‘Dead’: ‘Civil Rights Icon Rosa Parks Reduced to a Vagina Cover’

Megyn Kelly tore into the Met Gala and declared the high fashion event is “dead,” accusing one guest of turning civil rights icon Rosa Parks “into a vagina cover.”

On The Megyn Kelly Show Tuesday, Kelly shredded the fashion choices of various Met Gala guests and said the theme of the night was based on “leftist academic gobbledygook nonsensical talk.”

“The Met Gala is officially over. Dead. Done. Once the apex of high fashion culture and A-list celebrity, the gala now looks more like a sad sack D-list past its prime wannabe version of its old self. It’s closer to today’s nerd prom White House Correspondence Dinner than the center of the celeb and beauty universe as it used to be,” she said.

The theme of this year’s Met Gala, where former Vice President Kamala Harris made a surprise appearance, was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” based on an exploration of Black identities and Black dandyism.

“This year’s theme was superfine, tailoring black style, an homage to black dandyism. What’s that, you ask? No one has any idea,” Kelly said, adding later, “you’re not meant to, dumbasses.”

The former Fox News host took particular umbrage with musician Lalisa Manobal, known as Lisa, who sparked controversy when it appeared she had Rosa Parks’s likeness embroidered onto her underwear.

“Who is Lisa, you ask? Yes, I wanted to know too. She’s the girl from White Lotus who was dating the security guard, remember? She’s top notch star talent right there people, Lisa,” she said. “And how did Lisa interpret super fine dandyism? Apparently it meant putting Rosa Parks on her vagina. Yes, yes, this was the height of culture and high couture. Civil rights icon Rosa Parks reduced to a vagina cover. Look at this, is that part of the diaspora?”

The artist who collaborated with Lisa on her outfit denied the Rosa Parks connection and said the imagery comes from his own life. The likeness on the underwear, a representative for Henry Taylor told Vulture, was one of the artist’s neighbors.

“The faces seen on this look, as well as on previous LV garments featuring Taylor’s artwork, are all drawn from his personal life — family members, friends, and neighbors,” the rep said.
