RFK Jr. Reveals the ‘Most Surprising Thing’ He Learned About Trump to Tucker Carlson
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. claimed in an interview with Tucker Carlson that President Donald Trump not being a one-dimensional “narcissist” is the “most surprising” thing he’s learned working with him.
Kennedy joined Carlson on The Tucker Carlson Show this week where he at one point ran down a number of “surprising” things about the president, including the fact that he “cries to Pavarotti.”
“A lot of things have surprised me about the president because I bought into this fact that he was this one-dimensional character, that he was kind of a bombastic narcissist and all this,” Kennedy said, adding later that Trump’s own animated style can sometime play into “narcissist” narratives.
Kennedy called the president “immensely curious, inquisitive and immensely knowledgeable,” as well as “encyclopedic” when it comes to sports and music.
“He gets very emotional about music, and he is and he knows the whole story behind every song,” Kennedy said.
“Pavarotti and James Brown,” Carlson added.
“Yeah, he cries when he hears Pavarotti,” Kennedy responded.
He added that he previously had his now-employer “pegged” as a narcissist, but claimed the president shows great empathy when talking about certain issues, like Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the ongoing war.
“The most surprising thing is, because I had him pegged as a narcissist, when narcissists are incapable of empathy, and he is one of the most empathetic people that I’ve met. You notice whenever he talks about the Ukraine War, he always talks about the casualties on both sides every time he talks about it,” Kennedy said.
Carlson agreed with his guest.
“He does that in every theater. He talks about how human beings are affected by it, you know, whether it’s vaccines or Medicaid or Medicare, he’s always thinking about how this impacts the little guy,” Kennedy said.
The Health and Human Services Secretary claimed Trump is the “opposite” of the man Democrats paint him to be.
“The Democrats haven’t begged as a guy who’s sort of sitting, you know, in a cabinet meeting talking about how can we make billionaires richer. He’s the opposite of that. He’s a genuine populist,” Kennedy said.
