‘We Want Your Fear’: Steve Bannon Makes Veiled Threat To Trump Opponents For Second Term

Former Trump campaign manager and White House advisor Steve Bannon warned the left on his War Room podcast this week that “We mock your fear, we want your fear.”

Bannon played a clip from MSNBC’s Morning Joe in which co-host Mika Brzezinski was leading a panel discussion sounding the alarm about Trump promising to use government power for his personal vendettas. Bannon, who regularly discusses left-of-center, anti-Trump media commentary, roasted the MSNBC discussion, saying:

We mock you. We mock your fear. We want your fear. It’s going to be accountability. We are taking apart the administrative state. We’re going to destroy the deep state, and we’re going to hold everybody responsible that put this republic in the situation its in today.

Accountability, responsibility. And that will come with authority. The authority of Donald J. Trump as the 47th president of the United States.

President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign took notice of the clip and shared it with the caption, “Steve Bannon on Trump’s Project 2025: We mock your fear, we want you to fear. There will be accountability. We are going to hold everyone who opposes Trump responsible. That will come with authority, the authority of Donald Trump.”

Project 25 is a Heritage Foundation policy initiative to reshape the federal government by replacing career civil servants with thousands of hand-picked Trump loyalists, among other initiatives.
