Megyn Kelly Says Rachel Maddow ‘Took Her Boss’ Faces and Rubbed Them In S**t’: ‘Oozes Sanctimony and Self-Righteousness’
Megyn Kelly tore into MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow over her reaction to Joy Reid’s ouster — and even suggested Maddow’s show should be next.
On The Megyn Kelly Show, Kelly argued Maddow “took her bosses’ faces and rubbed them in shit last night” after Maddow criticized her own network for nixing Reid’s show as part of a larger shakeup.
Maddow said:
“I will tell you. It is also unnerving to see that on a network where we’ve got two – count them – two nonwhite hosts in primetime, both of our nonwhite hosts in primetime are losing their shows, as is Katie Phang on the weekend. And that feels worse than bad, no matter who replaces them. That feels indefensible. And I do not defend it.”
Phang will remain at the network while Michael Steele, Symone Sanders-Townsend, and Alicia Menendez are moving to primetime on weekdays. Eugene Daniels will also be hosting a weekend roundtable show.
Kelly, 54, was no fan of Maddow’s take on Reid’s dismissal and called on MSNBC brass to respond.
“She really is one of the most annoying people on television,” Kelly said about Maddow. “She oozes sanctimony and self-righteousness. Here’s the real capper. She took her boss’ faces and rubbed them in shit last night.”
Kelly then asked why recently-announced MSNBC president Rebecca Kutler and Mark Lazarus, the CEO of MSNBC’s parent company SpinCo (the network is being spun off from Comcast and separated from NBC), hadn’t fired Maddow already for “insubordination.”
Kelly said:
“Well, Rebecca and Mark, do you have any spines whatsoever? Are you actually going to let an employee, that’s what she is, Rachel Maddow, talk about you, your company and your decision making this way? Mr. Lazarus, do you have any testosterone? Do you have any testicular fortitude to stand up for yourself as a professional and executive, never mind a man, and tell this woman, ‘You’re fired too.'”
