ESPN’s Ryan Clark Savagely Trolls Fox Sports’ Chris Broussard for Epic Buffalo Bills Blunder

Chris Broussard was justly mocked for a shocking screw up on Fox Sports that everyone noticed, and ESPN’s Ryan Clark joined in with the most savage response.

Tuesday morning on First Things First, Broussard thought he figured out the reason the Buffalo Bills couldn’t convert on a game-deciding fourth and short.

“It got blown up on the left side,” Broussard said of the Bills getting stuffed on fourth down. “I wonder why? Could it be because Buffalo’s Pro Bowl left tackle Taylor Lewan was injured?”

One giant problem with Broussard’s analysis, Lewan is on the Titans and the Bills ran the play with their starting left tackle in the game. Minutes later, Broussard corrected himself, but the damage was done. Everyone piled on the Fox Sports host for the gaffe and Clark made the most of his opportunity to hilariously mock Broussard on ESPN’s NFL Live.

“I believe in the Buffalo Bills,” Clark said. “I believe we can make this kick, I believe that we can win. Now, if you listen to a lot of the experts that have spoken today, many people would say Taylor Lewan’s injury had a lot to do with the fact that they weren’t able to convert a fourth down.”

The comment from Clark drew a rousing fit of laughter from his co-hosts, with Marcus Spears pleading to explain the mockery to ESPN’s audience.

The worst part about Broussard’s mistake was that it appeared to be a prepared opinion. He wasn’t asked about the Bills, Titans or Lewan unexpectedly, the comment wasn’t part of a rebuttal during a candid conversation. It was well-thought and brutally vetted. But Broussard is known much more for his NBA prowess, while Clark, a former NFL safety, takes a lot of pride in his football analysis.
