A pair of NFL insiders got into a verbal spat at the Scouting Combine on Wednesday over conflicting scoops regarding Tom Brady.

According to a report from ProFootballTalk, the incident took place at a Starbucks located in the JW Marriott in Indianapolis, Indiana. There, Ian Rapoport was talking to an agent when Fox’s Jordan Schultz interrupted and said something to the effect of, “We need to talk.”

In response, Rapoport allegedly said the two men did not need to talk. Schultz, PFT reported, accused Rapoport of something — which Rapoport then denied. A source said Schultz told Rapoport, “If you have anything to say it to me, say it to my fucking face… If this continues, we’re going to have a fucking problem.”

Shortly after, NFL security descended onto the scene to separate the men.

The reason for the exchange, as noted by PFT, was believed to be their conflicting reports regarding Brady and Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford. Schultz reported that Stafford recently met with Brady — a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders — in Montana. After that report, however, Rapoport claimed it was less of a meeting and more of a chance encounter.

Schultz stood firm in his initial reporting in a follow-up tweet that seemed like a direct response to Rapoport.

“If you really think Tom Brady and Matthew Stafford just happened to run into each other at a ski resort in Montana — of all places — at the exact same time, I’ve got a bridge to sell you,” he said.

Rapoport declined to comment on the situation, but Schultz confirmed it did happen.
