WATCH: Theo Von Gets Brutally Rejected By ESPN Reporter Jess Sims on College GameDay

Maybe she is more of a Shane Gillis kind of woman?

ESPN’s Jess Sims went viral on X on Saturday after she instantly shot down comedian Theo Von, who was hoping to spend a little more time with the host while he was on College GameDay.

Von, after talking about being a big fan of Vanderbilt University’s football team for a moment, seemed a bit thrown off that his segment was coming to a quick close.

“Oh, I’m already gone?… will I ever see you again?” Von asked.

“Nooo. I hope not,” Sims responded, while appearing to wave Von off stage.

“Awww,” Von could be heard groaning in the background, as the camera panned to the crowd in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where 16th-ranked Vanderbilt was set to play 10th-ranked University of Alabama.

That moment was clipped by Awful Announcing and shared to X.

And interestingly, ESPN, on its official College GameDay channel on YouTube, appeared to censor it by cutting the moment Sims denied Von from a 14 minute video highlighting his appearance.

Back on X, a number of users enjoyed mocking Von over it.

Von did not run off to the library to cry about Sims, though. He joined the rest of the GameDay crew to tell some jokes and share which teams he thought would win on Saturday, since he was this week’s “celebrity guest picker.”

For those who are unfamiliar, Von has a popular comedy podcast that Vice President JD Vance and other major politicians have appeared on. The Israel-Hamas war has also been a topic he comments on frequently in recent years, with Von being critical of Israel, saying it is committing a “genocide” in Gaza.

Last month, the 45-year-old comic posted on X to “free Palestine,” using the Palestinian flag, among other examples of his pro-Gaza, anti-Israel stance.
