ZUCK STUCK: Facebook Chief Mark Zuckerberg Faces Tech Issues Trying to Connect to Senate Hearing

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg struggled to connect to the Senate Big Tech company censorship hearing on Wednesday, experiencing technical difficulties which temporarily delayed his opening statement.

During the hearing, after Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Google CEO Sundar Pichai had spoken, Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Roger Wicker (R-MS) announced that “members should be advised at this point that we are unable to make contact with Mr. Mark Zuckerberg.”

“We are told by Facebook staff that he is alone and attempting to connect with this hearing and that they are requesting a five minute recess at this point to see if that connection can be made,” Wicker explained, adding, “I think this is a most interesting development, but we’re going to accommodate the request of Facebook employees and see if within five minutes we can make contact and proceed.”

A few minutes later, Wicker said, “We’re told that in less that five minutes we have success.”

“So, Mr. Zuckerberg, I’m told that we have both video and audio connection. Are you there, sir?” he questioned, prompting Zuckerberg to reply, “Yes I am, can you hear me?”

Zuckerberg declared that he “was able to hear the other opening statements, I was just having a hard time connecting myself.”

“I know the feeling, Mr. Zuckerberg,” Wicker responded.
