Alec Baldwin Returns as Donald Trump To Mope About Mueller Probe, G20 Summit in SNL Cold Open

After a week off, Saturday Night Live returned with a Trump-themed cold open that featured the return of Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump as well as a chorus Trump World characters from this week’s news including a vampire-styled Rudy Giuliani, a bare-shirted Vladmir Putin and a chummy with Putin Saudi Crown Prince.

The sketch started with Melania Trump, as played by Cecily Strong, joining Trump in Argentina for the G20 Summit.

“Oh, cheer up, Donald! You know worst case scenario, you go to prison and you have to transfer your money to me for safe keeping!” Melania tells Trump who is having trouble sleeping because he can’t stop thinking of Mueller investigation.

Kate McKinnon, portraying vampire Rudy Giuliani, then enters.

“I keep those secrets where no one can find them, on nationally televised interviews,” McKinnon as Giuliani tells Trump about his secrets. “Okay. I need to run some errands before the sun rises. Good night, Donald.”

Trump then gets a phone call from Michael Cohen.

He tells Cohen — played by Ben Stiller —  he is sad he is going to prison before referencing Baldwin’s real-life legal flap.

“Good-bye, Michael. God, I haven’t been this upset since I flipped out over that parking space,” Baldwin as Trump says.

A chummy Vladimir Putin and Saudi Crown Prince also make an appearance before Trump breaks into song to end the open.

“Don’t cry for me Argentina, the truth is I’m very guilty some little no-nos and maybe treason but I kept my promise… oops, no, I didn’t,” a pitch-challenged Trump sings in the parody of the Evita classic.

The rest of the cast then join Trump in singing the balcony ballad, “It’s just a witch-hunt…and we’re all witches.”
