Alec Baldwin Rips Katie Couric: She Ruined The Today Show For Me
30 Rock actor Alec Baldwin lit into former Today Show host Katie Couric at the Washington Press Club on Monday, saying that the morning show anchor ruined the morning program for him when she lip synched “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” during a Halloween episode, according to a report by the Washington Examiner’s Charlie Spiering.
“That was the day I turned off the Today Show and I never watched it again, it was over,” Baldwin said. “(I) didn’t need to see lip syncing at 7:30 in the morning.”

Baldwin has been infuriated with The Today Show ever since they camped outside his apartment with cameras, tweeting “A story about stalking sure brings out the stalkers in the media. But, the Today Show? I think I’m leaving NBC just in time.”
During the press conference, Baldwin lamented that the news was “obsessed with the personal lives” of celebrities.
“When I go to work at a movie studio. . . down the hall there is a television program, owned by the same company that’s trying to cut my throat on TV.” Baldwin added. “We live in the world of mockery now in reality shows, and people willing to laugh at other people, its kind of a Roman circus feel to it.”
