Alec Baldwin’s Trump Sings ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ in SNL Cold Open

Alec Baldwin returned to Saturday Night Live for the season finale to play a songster Trump joined by a chorus of his cronies, staffers, and briefly “son and Eric” to sing a musical number.

“So I’m on cruise control to a second term and there’s nothing the Democrats in Congress can do about it,” Baldwin’s Trump said before breaking into song. “So sit back and enjoy the ride, America, because…I’m going to have myself  a real good time.”

Baldwin as Trump was then joined by his chorus which included Melania Trump (Cecily Strong), Sarah Sanders (Aidy Bryant)  and  Mike Pence (Beck Bennett)  for a Trumpian rendition of “Don’t Start Me Now” by Queen.

At one point, the song turned to the abortion controversy.

“Get the Supreme Court ready for a fight on abortion we got the most now,” they sang. “Women are screwed it was an issue you thought got resolved 50 years ago but no, no, no…”

SNL’s Robert Mueller — played by Robert DeNiro — also made a cameo appearance to crash the party.

“I have something very important to say to the American people. Something they need to hear,” DeNiro’s Mueller said before being  interrupted by Trump saying  “No collusion, no obstruction.”

The song and sketch then closed with Baldwin’s Trump saying this:  “Guys, it’s been fun. I don’t know what’s next for me, but I wouldn’t be Donald Trump if I didn’t say tune in next season to see who lives and who dies.”
