At Least Six Injured in Shooting at Atlanta FedEx Facility
At least six people were injured in a suspected shooting at a FedEx facility in the greater Atlanta area early Tuesday morning.
Authorities responded to the FedEx facility at the Cobb County airport on reports of a shooter, and the local hospital reported it had received six victims from the incident with injuries ranging from serious to minor.
FedEx confirmed the shooting. “FedEx is aware of the situation,” the company told local news agencies. “Our primary concern is the safety and well being of our team members, first responders and others affected. FedEx is cooperating with authorities.”
Nothing is known about the shooter(s); unconfirmed — unconfirmed! — reports say the shooter(s) is still at large.
Update — Apr. 29, 10:20 a.m. ET: Police now say the shooter is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Additional law enforcement was dispatched to inspect the site for “secondary devices” but found nothing.
