Avery Jessup – CNBC’s Hot New Right-Wing Host
Avery Jessup is the hot new host of the hit CNBC show Hot Box, which had on Jack Donaghy as a guest last night.
Well, actually, it was just part of the storyline to 30 Rock – where a right-wing lovefest turned into a steamy love affair.
Elizabeth Banks played Avery Jessup and hosted “Hot Box,” a name that sounds like Squawk Box but isn’t likely to make it past Standards and Practices at NBCU any time soon. Jack Donaghy (who apparently is now Vice President of Sheinhardt Universal), played by Alec Baldwin, was one of her guests. By the time they both predicted the next President of the United States would be “Mitt Romney‘s oldest son, Jezba,” (not real), they were hooked.
We also find out later that, in addition to her hosting duties on CNBC, Jessup is on this year’s Maxim “I’d Rape That 100” list.
Back when her role was announced, Banks said she would model her character after “Sean Hannity in a skirt.”
But CNBCer Dennis Kneale has a different theory:
ow THAT’S an OUTRAGE! my cnbc pals say mfrancis was inspiration for 30rock last nite. no way! it was mcc: alec b asked her out!
“mcc” refers to Michelle Caruso-Cabrera – and that reference can be found here.
