Charlie Rose Informs John Oliver That Trevor Noah’s Been Fired (Except He Hasn’t)

There was a pretty awkward moment on CBS This Morning today when Charlie Rose informed John Oliver that Trevor Noah has been fired.

Rose was clearly attempting to ask the former Daily Show correspondent about his thoughts about the late night slate at Comedy Central given recent shakeups. Larry Wilmore‘s show was cancelled, but he accidentally went a step farther than he should have.

He brought up the “two people” no longer there, and Oliver was confused.

Rose said, “I thought Trevor was going.”

No, he’s not. Though Oliver joked, “Unless you are firing him live on TV, which is an amazing scoop…”
