Chris Matthews Mocks Ed Schultz for ‘Jumping Up and Down’ over Bernie Sanders

It’s no secret that MSNBC’s Ed Schultz is a bit of a Bernie Sanders fanboy, but rarely do you hear his colleagues acknowledging it.

During a Hardball segment on Monday, host Chris Matthews poked fun at Schultz for “jumping up and down” over the deeply progressive Democratic candidate’s strong turnout at a recent campaign rally.

“Bernie got a big crowd out there in Denver, Ed Schultz was jumping up and down about it tonight,” Matthews said to laughter, before pouring cold water on Sandersmentum by noting that polls show most people would vote for rival candidate Hillary Clinton.

“Is it just weekends with Bernie?” Matthews joked of how the Sanders rally enthusiasm hasn’t translated in the polls.

Poor Ed Schultz.
