Chris Matthews: Newt Gingrich ‘Looks Like A Car Bomber’ And ‘Loves Torturing’

Last night Chris Matthews spoke at length about the field of potential GOP presidential candidates, and took subtle swipes at many along the way. Except when it came to Newt Gingrich (who his expected to announce an exploratory committee for a possible run imminently.) No, Matthews swipes at Gingrich were anything but subtle, comparing him to a “car bomber” with a “crazy Mephistophelian grin of his.” Whoa!

As his guest Clarence Page tried to intercede, Matthews piled on, declaring Gingrich’s odds of winning to be somewhere between slim and nil. “How many times he been married?” Matthews asked, later adding Gingrich “can’t just wipe the board clean and say, that wasn’t just me that got kicked out of the speakership for totally embarrassing the country with ethics in his personal life.”
