Chris Wallace Asks Deputy National Security Advisor About Trump Shifting ‘Dramatically’ on China, Russia
Fox’s Chris Wallace spoke with deputy National Security Advisor KT McFarland this morning and asked her about President Trump flipping “180 degrees” on Russia and China.
Trump has talked in the past about wanting a good relationship with Russia, but said last week relations may be “at an all-time low.” And he used to be very critical of China, but last week he backed off his past statements that he would label China a currency manipulator.
Wallace asked McFarland, “Is that good for the president to shift so dramatically and so quickly on both China and Russia?”
McFarland pointed to Trump’s recent meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and said that while the U.S. would like a better relationship with Russia, “the ball is in their court.”
