CNN Early Start Host Ashleigh Banfield Introduces Viewers To Her Kids, Mujahideen Of Tora Bora
On January 2, CNN will unveil a new slate of morning programming, with the 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. block anchored by Ashleigh Banfield and Zoraida Sambolin. And based on the preview video CNN just put out, the show, driven by Banfield, could turn out to be a fun success from the start.
While Sambolin seems excited to just be in New York and have her new co-workers allllmost pronounce her name correctly, Banfield seems downright giddy to be joining the lineup. She shows off her new CNN ID card and stationery with her name on it (“So, if you get one of these cards, you know it came straight From The Desk Of,”), while recounting her first TV job, which she traveled to by boat.
But Banfield’s best line came when going through pictures of her “babies” that were on her desk.
“This is Ridley. This is Fisher,” she says, before reaching for a photo in the array of frames that has two grown men and Banfield holding a gun, “This is… well…I don’t really know their names, but they’re the Mujahideen of Tora Bora.”
