CNN’s Kate Bolduan Asks: How Does a President Keep a Secretary ‘Who Thinks He’s a Moron?’

CNN’s Kate Bolduan asked how President Donald Trump can keep Rex Tillerson around after his Secretary of State called him a “moron.”

Not only did Tillerson not deny he said that today, but CNN White House Correspondent Kaitlan Collins confirmed the NBC report on air afterwards: “We have confirmed that the Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, who we just heard from there, did refer to the President as a moron this summer.”

And, she added, Trump was aware of the “moron” comment.

So Bolduan asked, “How does a President keep a Secretary or any Cabinet member in place who thinks he’s a moron?”

CNN Political Director David Chalian agreed it would be pretty notable for the President––not known for having the thickest skin––to keep Tillerson on after this.
