Controversy? President Obama Finds Time To Select His Bracket For ESPN
In a segment titled “Barack-etology 2011: The President’s Picks,” President Obama appeared on ESPN to make his annual prediction of which college basketball team could go all the way in the NCAA tournament. This year Obama thinks Kansas will defeat Ohio State in the finals to win the title and joked that now Kansas will be motivated because any team he picks “always [feels] bad about losing when the President picks them.”
Obama filled out his NCAA bracket and his Final Four consisted of Kansas, Pittsurgh, Duke and Ohio State. At the beginning of the segment, Obama admitted “we are going through incredible changes around the world” and encouraged Americans to donate to charities to help the victims in Japan. Despite criticism from some that Obama should be exclusively focusing on serious issues around the world, Obama clearly enjoyed sharing his vast knowledge of college basketball here and making predictions.
