Cooper Confronts Trump Over Heidi Cruz Attacks: ‘That’s the Argument of a 5-Year-Old’

Anderson Cooper seemed to get a little frustrated with Donald Trump tonight over him deflecting from his nasty attacks on Heidi Cruz. Trump complained, “I didn’t start it.”

Cooper countered, “That’s the argument of a 5-year-old.”

Trump objected to that characterization and said Ted Cruz was clearly behind the ad featuring a nude photo of his wife. Cooper said multiple times that’s not true.

Cooper asked him to just “leave wives out of this” and, when Trump deflected his nasty retweet of a Heidi Cruz insult, said, “You act as if retweeting is not an endorsement.”

Trump, of course, deferred on all of this, but did say he doesn’t like to be talking about wives.
