Corey Lewandowski: ‘Media Should Be Praising’ Trump for Threatening to ‘Get Involved’ in DOJ
On Wednesday, former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski appeared on CNN where the topic quickly turned to President Donald Trump‘s tweet from this morning suggesting he “will have no choice but to use the powers granted to the Presidency and get involved!”
Jim Sciutto, who was filling in for Jake Tapper, asked Lewandowski what exactly Trump meant by the tweet and how exactly he planned to use his presidential powers to influence the Russian probe.
“Let me ask you this question. When he said I may need to get involved, exclamation point, what does he mean by get involved if he doesn’t mean, as you say, firing, whether it be Mueller or Rosenstein, what does he mean by getting involved?” Sciutto asked.
“I think he means he’ll have to encourage and/or demand the Department of Justice turn over the documents,” Lewandowski opined.
The Trump loyalist then suggested instead of criticizing Trump, the media “should be praising the president for his desire to make sure that all of the information is shared.”
Lewandowski then added: “I don’t understand why they are not.”
