Dan Bongino Cheers Aaron Rodgers, Joe Rogan, and Bari Weiss as Being on Right Side of Covid History With Him
Fox News host Dan Bongino said Saturday that people like himself can’t get traction because of the left, but people with “cultural capital” like Aaron Rodgers and Joe Rogan can a real difference in the world.
The context of that observation was a discussion about “censorship” on issues related to covid vaccines and mandates, following comments from NFL star Rodgers that were huge news.
“When in the course of human history has the side that’s doing the censoring and trying to shut people up and make them show papers and marginalize a part of the community ever been [the correct side]?” Rodgers is quoted in an ESPN interview. “We’re censoring dissenting opinions? What are we trying to do? Save people from being able to determine the validity on their own or to listen and to think about things and come to their own conclusion? Freedom of speech is dangerous now if it doesn’t align with the mainstream narrative?”
Podcast king Rogan is frequently the center of controversies related to the media and covid, such as a recent on-again-off-again doctors-but-not-exactly-all-doctors open letter to Spotify complaining about him.
Bongino was recently given a temporary ban by YouTube, which he addressed in his remarks on Fox & Friends on Saturday as he praised the two celebrities for making an impact.
“Guys like you and me and Rachel and Will, no matter what we say, and we back up our approaches by facts and data, here’s the hard reality. Most of the left just writes us off,” said Bongino addressing show co-hosts Joey Jones, Will Cain, and Rachel Campos-Duffy. “Because they just do. They’re living in this prison of the two minds as Gutfeld called – and I think he’s right, you know, he’s absolutely correct.”
“But it’s people with cultural capital like Joe Rogan and Aaron Rodgers who can really make a difference, and I want to applaud it,” he said.
“By the way, none of this actually works, this censorship,” Bongino added. “I got suspended by screw tube for saying about masks exactly what the CDC confirmed last week.”
“what happened? People just went over to my Rumble account,” he said. “It’s called the Streisand effect. Like it’s not working.”
Bongino referenced comments Bari Weiss made to Bill Maher on Friday, saying she is right that the younger generation will look back on this in ten or twenty years and resent the decisions their parents made.
“That’s a tough thing for you kids to have to look back and go, ‘mom, dad, you did this,'” he said. “I have kids, believe me.”
Bongino concluded by saying “I’m really confident I’m on the right side, here,” to which Will Cain agreed, “you are.”
“Zero doubt,” said Cain.
