Dave Chappelle Returns to Late Night, Explains His Old Show’s Cancellation

It’s been years since Dave Chappelle has been on late night television, but tonight he’s back, sitting down with David Letterman and catching up on what he’s been up to. And in a preview clip, Letterman asks the burning question: why exactly was Chappelle’s Show cancelled?

Chappelle’s Show, you may recall, was a hit Comedy Central show with a strong cult following that did some classic sketches like Clayton Bigsby, the black white supremacist, and Tupac Is Still Alive.

Well, Chappelle cleared things up about the show’s abrupt ending by clearing something up for Letterman: “Technically, I never quit. I am seven years late for work.”
