DC Shooting Witness Breaks Down in Tears Recounting Brutal Attack
Passerby John Elleson broke down in tears in a news interview Wednesday as he recounted witnessing the brutal killing of two Israeli embassy workers outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington D.C. that night.
The victims have been named as Yaron Lischinsky and his girlfriend Sarah Milgrim, who were to be engaged next week. Police arrested Elias Rodriguez, 30, of Chicago, who shouted “Free Palestine” as he was escorted away from the museum by officers shortly after the murders.
Elleson was passing on the sidewalk when the attack happened. He told Sky News correspondent Ashish Joshi to share what he’d seen: “We were just – I was walking by, and a guy came up and looked like a gun. I couldn’t tell what it was, but I heard it afterwards, the shots. And he shot this young couple.”
At this point, visibly shaken and having to pause, Elleson was on the verge of tears.
“Are you okay?” the journalist asked him.
Elleson continued: “And then he ran inside, and he yelled something.”
“I couldn’t make it out what he said. He just ran up. It was terrible. I don’t know. It was terrible. It looks like he knew them, but I don’t think he knew them. But he went right up to him,” he added.
