Rep. Dennis Kucinich Tells Bill O’Reilly That Rep. John Boehner Is “Quintessential Pro”
Rep. Dennis Kucinich and Speaker-of-the-House-to-be John Boehner are both from Ohio…but the similarities mostly end there. Boehner, of course, is a staunch conservative, while Kucinich has a reputation as one of the most liberal members of Congress. So it was more than a bit intriguing to hear Kucinich go on The O’Reilly Factor and call Boehner “a quintessential pro” who “will be able to work with the president.”
O’Reilly wanted to know if a “tough guy” like Boehner could coexist with Obama once he takes the Speaker reins, and Kucinich responded with a string of effusive praise, saying that “whenever anything came up for Ohio, he was always there,” such as protecting jobs for NASA and around Cleveland. He said that “a challenging time” is ahead, but sounded confident in Boehner that he could meet the challenge. In fact, Kucinich’s sharpest barb was saved for a much wider demographic:
“I think that Mr. Boehner understands that we’re looking at a situation where the impatience of the American people has now been transferred to our friends in the Republican Party.”
Ouch. Video of the segment below.
