‘Desperate’?: CNN’s Baldwin Confronts McCain Opponent for Attacking Him on His Age

brooke baldwinIn the past few days, John McCain‘s Republican primary opponent Kelli Ward has been getting some national media attention for her attacks on McCain over his age.

Ward is a physician and she has been armchair-diagnosing McCain and his state of mind, saying things like “There are things that happen physiologically with the body and the mind. One of them is control over your anger and he’s already known as an angry man.”

A big theme of her campaign has been to #RetireMcCain.

Ward called into CNN this afternoon and Brooke Baldwin immediately confronted her on whether the attack is fair when there’s no Constitutional age limit on being too old to serve.

Ward pointed to past comments by McCain mulling retirement and argued the Senate needs fresh blood.

Baldwin asked if this was just a “desperate move” on her part, given how far behind Ward is in the polls.

Watch how Ward answered in the video above, via CNN.
