Earnest: Netanyahu Used ‘Divisive Election Day Political Tactics’
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest made it clear on Friday that the Obama Administration did not appreciate the “divisiveness” of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s political tactics on Election Day.
Netanyahu declared earlier this week — the day before facing re-election — that there would be no Palestinian state under his watch, but reversed his position on that claim just two days after winning re-election. Fox News host Megyn Kelly grilled Netanyahu Thursday night on the apparent flip-flop.
“You’ve also heard me raise significant concerns that we have here about some of the divisive Election Day political tactics that were deployed by the prime minister’s political party on Election Day,” Earnest said at Friday’s White House press briefing. “And you’ve also heard me raise concerns about the prime minister indicating withdrawal of his country’s commitments to a two-state solution.”
