Ed Rollins to Lou Dobbs: Fox Will Do ‘Anything to Carry’ Trump’s Message While Other Networks Attack Him
During a Pravda-esque tirade on the need for more pro-Donald Trump propaganda, Fox News political commentator Ed Rollins told Fox Business host Lou Dobbs tonight that their media company will do “basically anything to carry” President Donald Trump’s “message.”
“Think about who we are with this president,” Dobbs said as the two discussed the administration’s relationship with China. “With President Trump — he wants to build a wall and stop the importation of billions of dollars of methamphetamine, marijuana, heroin, cocaine, opioids, and — he wants the Chinese not to ship us all the fentanyl, and of all the other deadly drugs that they bring into this country. He has to get everyone’s support for that in this country.”
“What in hell is wrong with the American people that they don’t understand this president deserves their support because he is trying to protect their lives and that of their children?!” The host exclaimed.
Rollins suggested Trump “keep pounding” that message “every single day,” to-which Dobbs, who appeared slightly offended, shot-back with a defense of the president: “Wait a minute! He pounds at every day.”
“I understand but it doesn’t get carried, he has to do it himself,” Rollins said, just before making a telling admission about his network’s role in the media. “The problem — and you and I have had this discussion before — there’s one network, and that’s us — that basically will do anything to carry his message. There are multiple other networks that basically attack him.”
Dobbs, whose rants — both in support of the president and against his political enemies — have become alarmingly unhinged in recent weeks, then demanded to know, “Why isn’t every preacher in the country talking about it every Sunday? They should be.”
“Why is in every school talking about it with their schools. Why isn’t every history teacher?! It is incredible to me. Higher education is indoctrinating American students to become left-wing radicals instead of pointing out what a great country this is and how we became a great country.”
After Rollins expressed Trump might be frustrated by the opposition he’s facing, Dobbs insisted that “the American people” should actually be the frustrated ones, after watching “him be assailed every day.”
“You’re watching Robert Mueller, a man trying to kill him. Your watching Paul Ryan trying to kill him, politically,” he added. “You’re watching Mitch McConnell sort of wash his hands of the whole thing instead of stand up for the country. I mean it’s pretty despicable.”
