Eric Bolling Suggests We Should Starve Prisoners Because We Love America
Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio is trolling humanity again by punishing inmates for flag desecration with a two-week diet of bread and water, and by bread, he means “a baked loaf of ground-up fruits, vegetables, milk powder, dough and other ingredients.” Not to be outdone, The Five‘s Eric Bolling told his fellow four that even the “bread” was too good for these prisoners, and recommended a weeklong diet of water only. Because America.
Now that there’s no racism, Eric Bolling is free to solve the other problems plaguing our great country, like child support dodgers and reefer addicts desecrating flags in their jail cells. “I wear the flag for a reason,” Bolling said. “It represents American freedom. Our sons and daughters are dying on battlefields around the world for the freedom that this flag represents. If people who are incarcerated are burning the flag, stepping on the flag, tearing the flag, it’s a complete disrespect. You don’t even deserve, deserve the bread.”
“Give them water,” he added. “You can probably last a week without anything.”
Yes, American troops are dying right now to protect Eric Bolling’s patriotic right to starve U.S. citizens. They’re also dying to protect Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s most Americanest demonstrations of American patriotimism. Are you wondering how these America-hating prisoners wound up with American flags in their cells?
Controversial Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio says 38 inmates have rebelled against his new policy of putting American flags in jail cells, desecrating the Stars and Stripes and earning them what he calls a diet of “bread and water.”
Now, ain’t that America? Patriotism is just so hollow when it’s not compulsory.
Bolling later added “How do you think people feel if their sons or daughters or wives or husbands are killed by people who are then imprisoned, these people who have food, flat screen TVs, play areas, soccer fields. What kind of punishment is that? No incentive not to do it.”
Maybe Bolling ought to watch a little MSNBC this weekend to see what conditions in a maximum security prison are really like. As for the “flat-screen TVs,” I’m not sure they even make the other kind anymore. Bahhh! They’ve got electric lights and fancy running water! And soap that has mysteriously coupled with rope! ‘Tis sorcery!
He also ought to check out Arizona’s crime stats. Bolling insists that the cushy Maricopa digs are a magnet for murderers, but 90% of Arizona’s crimes are property crimes, versus 10% that are violent crimes. Arpaio’s inmates are much more likely to be Justin Bieber than Jason Voorhees. With the nation’s sixth highest incarceration rate, they’ve got to put somebody in there.
But that is beside the point, because even if every one of those prisoners were Chianti-and-liver loving cannibal murderers, we don’t treat them humanely in order to protect their humanity, we do it to protect our own.
