Exasperated Brianna Keilar Scolds Guests for Needing ‘Fact Check’ and ‘Fat-Shaming’ Trump: ‘Can We Just Have a Decent Conversation?’

CNN’s Brianna Keilar wanted to be anywhere but talking to Paul Begala and Hogan Gidley on Friday.

Begala, a longtime Democratic operative, took a victory lap the day after former President Donald Trump was convicted in New York for falsifying business records. He called Trump “an obese, flatulent old man with bad makeup” who, according to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, is bad in bed.

Gidley, who was Trump’s Deputy White House press secretary, made the sweeping claim that Americans support Trump’s policies over President Joe Biden’s, stating that “they had record-setting success in record-setting time, regardless of race, religion, color, or creed.” He also claimed that immigrants are “pouring across [the border] by the tens of millions.”

“Hogan, I just like, can we fact-check you on these border numbers?” Keilar said. “And Paul, you’re like, fat-shaming the former president. I mean–”

“No, I feel sorry for him,” Begala said sarcastically. “He does not look good and I’m worried about him.”

“He’s been sitting in a courtroom for weeks and weeks,” Keilar said. “Can we just have a decent conversation?”

After a couple of seconds of silence, co-host Boris Sanchez declared, “I guess the answer to that is, maybe not today.”

Gidley responded he welcomes a conversation about the health of Trump and Biden, the latter of which he claimed is in physical and mental decline.

“That’s the last thing–” Keilar began.

“Hey, that is an issue for voters,” Gidley interjected. “You may not want to admit it.”

“I know it’s an issue for voters,” Keilar replied.

Sanchez wrapped up the segment by  saying, “It’s been a conversation,” while Begala stated, “Somebody needs a hug.”

“I need a hug right now,” Keilar concluded.
