Face the Nation’s Margaret Brennan Reveals Lindsey Graham is Not a Fan of Bono’s Music

During a sit down with The Late Show’s Stephen Colbert on Wednesday night, Face the Nation‘s Margaret Brennan revealed that Sen. Lindsey Graham is not a fan of Bono’s music.

Brennan, though, admitted she most definitely is.

First, the mother and journalist fessed up to the fact she had a picture of Bono in her office before she had a picture of her son.

Then, in response to a question about how she got to meet Bono, she said this:

“I’m a huge U2 fan. I loved U2 all my life, but that was in D.C. at a gathering, Bono’s organization ONE Campaign had put together of lawmakers from both sides of the aisles who were engaged in trying to continue foreign aid to many different programs, AIDS relief, other programs– particularly in Africa– that the White House had said they wanted to initially cut back on some foreign aid.”

That is when Graham entered the story.

“And a lot of Republicans took a stand and said ‘no’– Lindsey Graham, John Thune, others among them. And so they got together, a group of these lawmakers to talk about some of the things they were trying to do to continue foreign aid,” she explained. “And it was the coolest thing because I also got to meet Bono and talk about the things I love.”

It seems, though, Graham wasn’t nearly as excited as she was about the event.

“And, you know, Lindsey Graham– Senator Graham was on my program shortly thereafter. And I said, ‘How cool was that event?’ And he said, ‘You know, I don’t really like their music.'”

“That’s too bad Lindsey Graham doesn’t like Bono,” Colbert replied.

“I hope Senator Graham isn’t upset with me for saying that,” Brennan replied, adding Graham loves the non-musical work Bono has done.

“He just doesn’t care for what Bono has spent most of his life doing,” Colbert quipped.
