Fox Business Host Rips Pope Francis: He’s Weak on Socialism and Border Walls
During a discussion on Pope Francis‘ weekend remarks, Fox Business Network host Elizabeth MacDonald declared the Pope is weak on both socialism and border walls.
It all happened after host Stuart Varney insisted Pope Francis had taken “a shot at President Trump” when he said that “Those who build walls will become prisoners of the walls they put up.”
In response, MacDonald said that the Pope was getting “getting political again.”
She then suggested that the Pope’s remarks had to be taken in the context of “how the pope approaches all of Central America.”
The pope’s “very weak in his response to communism and socialism in the other parts of the world. And he is weak on the border wall as well,” MacDonald then opined.
MacDonald then said the point is the Pope is not criticizing the government that is causing the migrant outflows.
“Can you imagine if Pope John Paul had taken this approach to Poland?” she then asked, prompting Varney to reply “very different outcome.”
