Fox Host Brian Kilmeade Presses Trump on Iran Negotiations: ‘Could You Tell Me Who You’re Talking To?’

Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade pressed President Donald Trump on negotiations with Iran, asking the commander in chief directly, “Who are you talking to, Mr. President?”

Trump appeared on the program early Tuesday and spoke on a variety of topics, including the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, whose memorial service in Washington, D.C., is set for later in the day.

The pair spoke of Graham before Kilmeade pivoted to the topic of Iran:

BRIAN KILMEADE: I know he thought golfing with you, was the most intriguing, fun thing that he could ever do.

And he would also mix the perfect things he loved so much, and that was work and fun and being with somebody with great influence like yourself. Top of his mind was war in Iran, I know you’re going to be talking about that today with the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

And we hear you are talking right now with leaders on Iran. But Iran has come out and said we’re not talking to the U.S. We’re going to pause as long as they’re paused.

DONALD TRUMP: Well, they just came out and said we are talking.

KILMEADE: So could you tell me who you’re talking to Mr. President?

TRUMP: For some reason, we can be in the midst of a beautiful discussion and they’ll say, we’re not talking or we did not discuss nuclear, well that is all we discuss because they’ll never have a nuclear weapon, they understand that.

We have had some very good talks and very interesting with Lindsey, he was very much a hawk on Iran. Over the last few weeks, I would say he became, if you could make a deal, before making a deal in this case than enjoying rest of the country. We’ve destroyed most of it frankly. But he was somebody that was good time to make a deal, nice time to make a deal.

KILMEADE: What does a good deal look like?

TRUMP: I wouldn’t say he feels that way about Ukraine, he is very militant about. I mean Lindsey liked war. He was a guy who liked war. I jokingly say and nothing funny about it but he’s never seen a war that he didn’t like.
