Fox Host Shocked as Guest Declares, ‘This Could Be Beginning of World War III’
Fox Business anchor Stuart Varney appeared surprised as a guest declared, “This could be the beginning of World War III” following Israel’s overnight airstrikes against Iran.
Varney, joined by Michael Lee on Friday, was stunned to hear Lee end the interview by acknowledging a new world war as a possibility. Lee also argued that tensions in the Middle East and uncertainty about the future is throwing a wrench into the markets.
“Stuart, I’ll be adding capital all along the AI Infrastructure names. We will see where the market opens so the ones down the biggest, I will be buying those dips. But, look, this could go a lot of different directions. This could be the beginning of World War III. This could be over in a week,” he said.
“No,” Varney said at the mention of “World War III.”
“We’ll see how it plays out,” Lee said with a laugh.
“You really think so? You really think this is the beginning of World War III?” Varney asked.
“Look, I hope not, Stuart, but this is a huge level [up], step up and level of aggression from Israel to Iran. This is not on board with the president’s agenda, so we have to see how this plays out,” Lee said.
“Well, well, well. You will be back next week, Mike, but you know…” Varney said laughing.
Iran called Israel targeting its military and nuclear infrastructure in their strikes a “declaration of war” and they’ve launched a series of drones in retaliation.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his campaign would take as long as it needs as Israel refuses to “be a victim of a nuclear holocaust perpetrated by the Iranian regime.”
President Donald Trump, meanwhile, fully endorsed the “excellent” attack by Israel after Secretary of State Marco Rubio distanced the U.S. from the conflict.
