Fox News’ Dick Morris: We Need To Stand Up Against Obama’s Socialist Agenda
Fox News contributor Dick Morris appeared on Fox & Friends very early Wednesday to weigh in on the previous night’s election results. In particular, he was asked whether the re-elected President Barack Obama will do more to reach across the aisle in his second term.
“We need somebody who can reach across the aisle,” said host Steve Doocy. “But from the books I’ve read about this administration, Barack Obama in many ways doesn’t have a bipartisan [bone] in his body.”
Morris agreed, adding however that “we need to understand just how weakly this president was re-elected, by the skin of his teeth.” The Republican party, he continued, needs to work with Obama “when he’s positive,” but “otherwise, we need to stand up against this socialist agenda and stop him from fundamentally changing the United States.
Later, he added that “I think that what we have to understand is that this is a president that lost seven points of the mandate that he was elected for in 2008; he won by seven then, he won by one last night. And I think that the Republicans cannot be intimidated, they can’t be cowed. They’ve got to stand up and make sure that he does not make permanent these socialist, big government program that he’s been pushing since his first term.”
