Fox News Host: Rep. Elijah Cummings Would ‘Rather Cry on Television’ Than Fix Immigration

The hosts of Fox News’ Outnumbered discussed the horrible family separation border policy this afternoon, criticizing the way some Democrats have reacted to it.

Pete Hegseth said, “It’s nearly impossible to have a rational conversation about this because of the level of hyperbole, especially coming from the left.. They see this as a golden opportunity to be for the kids and hammer the President as heartless.”

He said that people are bringing children because it’s “like bringing a shield,” saying it’s on Congress to take care of this.

Melissa Francis said it’s hard not to find the photos from the border “horrifying,” before bringing up the emotional remarks today from Congressman Elijah Cummings.

Francis said, “When you hear Elijah Cummings crying and saying ‘have some compassion,’ I want to say, ‘You have some compassion and get back to work.'”

Trish Regan said that Democrats don’t really want to fix the problem:

“They do not want to, because they would much rather cry on television like Elijah Cummings did. They would rather show, in some cases, fake photos… They would rather play this out on a very emotional level because you’re appealing, in the Democrats’ mind, to people’s hearts, and nobody wants to see children separated from their parents. But at the same time, it plays to a hatred they can gin up as we go into ’18 for Donald Trump.”
