Fox News’ The Five Defends Chelsea Clinton Over Viral Confrontation: Will Any Democrat Stand Up and Say ‘Enough’?

The hosts of Fox News’ The Five defended Chelsea Clinton today over the video of her being confronted by student activists at a vigil for the victims of the New Zealand mosque terror attack.

Video of the confrontation shows one student telling Clinton she has helped stoke Islamophobia, that “this right here is the result of a massacre stoked by people like you and the words you put out into the world,” and that “49 people died because of the rhetoric you put out there.”

The activists––who wrote a column for BuzzFeed over the weekend––were bothered by Clinton’s comments about Congresswoman Ilhan Omar:

Emily Compagno said on The Five that it’s strange to go after “the most benign person ever to make their point,” while Jesse Watters noted that the video managed to unite Bill de Blasio and Donald Trump Jr.

He said it “exemplifies the left civil war over anti-Semitism.”

Dana Perino asked if anyone on the left will stand up to this:

“Wouldn’t it have been great if she had said ‘let me tell you a couple things’? Who’s going to stand up on the left and say ‘enough’? Who is that going to be? It can’t be us… Who on the left is going to stand up and do that? Will it be Kamala Harris or Beto O’Rourke or Joe Biden?”

Greg Gutfeld, meanwhile, said, “I hate these students because they’re making me sympathetic to Chelsea Clinton. I can’t stand Chelsea Clinton. Now I’ve got to defend her.”

“The students are equating denunciation of anti-Semitism with anti-Muslim bigotry. That’s really scary because that means you shouldn’t be criticizing anti-Semitism,” he added.
