Fox’s Dana Perino: O’Reilly Overreacted Last Night on Ferguson
On last night’s O’Reilly Factor, Bill O’Reilly was really fired up about Ferguson. He went after some of the claims from protesters about racist police officers gunning down young black men, blamed the violent protesters for setting black race relations, and even asserted that despite what news outlets may say, it’s “not true” to claim most of the protesters were not violent.
This bit of commentary inspired some discussion on Fox’s The Five today. And while most of the hosts said O’Reilly was basically right on the money, Dana Perino actually said that O’Reilly was overreacting:
“I actually thought that––when I saw it last night––I thought it was an overreaction. I think that it’s important that people who are looking at the facts to not overreact, because it is a fairly small minority of people that are trying to foment the situation, but that small minority is getting the lion’s share of the attention.”
She concluded, “Overreacting is something we have to make sure that we don’t do.”
