Fox’s Harris Faulkner Says Pro-Palestinian Protesters at Columbia University ‘HATE Jewish Americans’
Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner insisted that every Columbia pro-Palestinian protester shown on air was anti-Semitic, saying, “They hate Jewish Americans.”
Violent protests broke out again on Wednesday on the campus of Columbia University as roughly 80 pro-Palestinians took over a school library in the Manhattan campus.
Wearing masks and kaffiyehs, many of the protestors reportedly “burst through a security gate shortly after 3 p.m. and hung banners in the soaring main room of Butler Library’s second floor, renaming the space “the Basel Al-Araj Popular University,” according to the demonstrators and witnesses at the library, as reported by the New York Times.
As B-roll of the protest aired, Faulkner noted the drumming sound in the background and said, “Wow, they’ve got a beat going, but there’s a lot of hate in that room right now. They hate Jewish Americans and the state of Israel, the Jewish state of Israel, a lot of hate on that campus.”
“Some 100 masked anti-Israel protesters stormed Columbia University’s campus in the first major protest since last spring,” she continued. “So we’ve seen this mounting, it’s getting bigger now. This is one of the largest we’ve seen. They took over a part of the main library. Where students were studying for final exams.”
“So they’d better really make sure that they contain themselves, because if you hurt one of those students, just think about that for a second,” she dramatically concluded. “They’re not thinking straight. Those protesters, this is not protected speech. This is not civil disobedience. This is hands-on violence. Hands-on.”
As protests on behalf of the Palestinians have raged across campus, a remarkably complex and complicated debate about the core issues has also emerged. Many protestors accuse the state of Israel of engaging in genocide against the Palestinian people, while many pro-Israel supporters see Palestinians as electing the terrorist group Hamas that carried out the deadly October 7th attack, which started the latest round of violence.
To say that all protestors “hate” Jewish-Americans is an oversimplified telling of a remarkably complex issue, particularly as some American Jews regularly protest for Palestinian rights.
