Fox’s Kilmeade: Michael Sam a Distraction Just Like Michael Vick Was

This morning on Fox & Friends, the three hosts were discussing the fallout from Tony Dungy‘s comments about Michael Sam being a distraction. Brian Kilmeade made the observation that it’s not just about sexuality because, for one example, Michael Vick became such a huge distraction in the locker room when he got out of prison and returned to the game.

Kilmeade said when a player is “bigger than the sport,” like Tim Tebow was for a time, it does become a distraction. Elisabeth Hasselbeck stood up for Dungy and said, “It’s a fact that this story is a big deal in the media. You know, Michael Sam, did he make it a big deal? Who knows. Did Tony Dungy make it a big deal? It’s a big deal because the media latched onto this early on.”

Steve Doocy brought up Michael Vick’s notoriety, to which Kilmeade added, “Michael Vick, coming out of prison, he was a distraction in the locker room because that’s a major story every time you walk in.”
