Fox’s Laura Ingraham Slams ‘Lame’ Republicans Avoiding Town Halls and Angry Constituents

Laura Ingraham ripped congressional Republicans who are not holding town halls, lest they catch hell from angry attendees.

Several GOP members of Congress have gone viral after angry constituents gave them earfuls in recent town halls. Many of those voters expressed frustration at the massive federal layoffs being enacted across the country by President Donald Trump and his adviser Elon Musk. Moreover, prices are set to increase on various imports because Trump recently imposed tariffs on Canada and Mexico, sparking a trade war with the two largest trading partners of the U.S.

This week, the National Republican Congressional Committee advised members not to hold in-person town halls. The NRCC told House Republicans that virtual town halls are preferable because attendees’ questions could be screened.

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and other Republicans have baselessly claimed that the aforementioned angry constituents are actually paid protestors.

On Tuesday’s installment of The Ingraham Angle on Fox News, the host ripped the NRCC and Republicans who are refusing to hold town halls.

“Chad Pergram is reporting that the National Republican Congressional Committee is telling members to hold no in-person town halls because Democrats have been hijacking them,” she said to Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL). “Is that the right call?”

“I’m doing a town hall in a couple of weeks,” Donalds responded. “I would tell any Democrat that wants to come out there and astroturf my town hall, bring it. Because we’re gonna talk the truth and what’s really going on. I’m not afraid of you. About time we get down to business in D.C.”

“I don’t want to pile on here, but I thought that was lame,” Ingraham responded. “Look, when the tea party showed up at the democrat town halls, we complained that we were thrown out. So now you’re going to say, ‘Don’t show up.’ I say let them show up. Let’s see exactly who these people are. When you engage them in conversation, respectfully, oftentimes they can’t back up what they’re saying with real arguments.”
