Fox’s Watters Tells Viewers, ‘When You Read the News, Assume It’s Not True’

Fox News host Jesse Watters blasted the media’s response to Donald Trump’s “bloodbath” comment over the weekend before telling viewers not to believe the news unless that news comes from his show.

At a rally in Ohio on Saturday, the former president made the following remarks about Chinese President Xi Jinping and the U.S. auto industry:

If you’re listening, President Xi – and you and I are friends, but he understands the way I deal – those big monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now, and you think you’re gonna get that, you’re gonna not hire Americans and you’re gonna sell the cars to us – no.

We’re gonna put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line. And you’re not gonna be able to sell those guys if I get elected. Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole– that’s gonna be the least of it. It’s gonna be a bloodbath for the country. That’ll be the least of it. But they’re not gonna sell those cars.

Trump’s critics seized on his “bloodbath for the country” remark, stating that it is yet another example of him attempting to stoke political violence. Conservatives, however, say the comment was taken out of context and that the former president was simply suggesting the auto industry will have a hard time and that “bloodbath” is used figuratively as a matter of routine.

On Monday’s Jesse Watters Primetime on Fox News, the host slammed those who touted Trump’s comments as an example of threatening political violence. He also played a montage of Democrats and pundits using the term “bloodbath” in other contexts.

“The Biden campaign’s facing a landslide loss,” Watters said. “And their once well-oiled hoaxes don’t even last a day, so they’ve thrown all the hoaxes into one big pot.”

He then aired clips of Trump critics predicting he will make himself a dictator if elected again.

“The democrat media industrial complex is preying on you,” Watters stated “They don’t want you to read, they don’t want you to be curious. They want you to be stupid, scared, and oblivious – easy marks for psyops. They don’t have any faith in the people they have a social contract with.”

He then warned viewers not to believe the news they consume:

Thomas Jefferson famously said quote, “Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper.”

So when you read the news, assume it’s not true – until you watch Jesse Watters Primetime.
