George Will On Gingrich: ‘Time Is Not [His] Friend,’ He Is Acting ‘Horrid’
A new poll out from Florida shows Mitt Romney with a 15-point lead over Newt Gingrich, and on ABC’s This Week today, Jake Tapper asked how Gingrich’s Florida numbers will end up impacting the rest of the race. George Will didn’t mince words, declaring right out that Gingrich does not have time on his side, and the more time he has, the more he talks, and the more he talks, the more he makes somewhat divisive remarks.
To get his point across, Will recited a short poem depicting a little girl who exhibited the extremes of politeness and rudeness, coming across as extremely “horrid” in the case of the latter. And Will argued that “we’re at the horrid stage with Newt Gingrich.” Donna Brazile pointed to the big coalition Romney has been able to build in Florida by campaigning there for months and encouraging many people to be early voters.
Ingraham brought up Gingrich’s remarks on This Week from earlier in the show, most of which were attacking Romney for distortions and negative attacks, and she noted that the only time a politician bothers “complaining about the other guy being mean” is when they’re clearly losing the race.
