‘Good Job!’ Jen Psaki Praises Fox News Anchor For Fact-Checking Trump’s ‘Untruths’
MSNBC host and former White House press secretary Jen Psaki praised Fox News anchor Arthel Neville on Monday for fact-checking former President Donald Trump’s “untruths” during a rally in Iowa.
“So I try not to spend too much time analyzing what our friends on other networks are doing. It’s healthy not to,” said Psaki on her MSNBC show Inside. “But this weekend, Fox News did something kind of a little bit surprising for them.”
Psaki then played a clip of Neville telling her viewers following a Trump rally on Saturday, “Many untruths. The 2020 election was not rigged, it was not stolen.”
“‘It was not rigged, it was not stolen.’ See, Fox News is capable of saying it. Good job! Good job,” Psaki praised. “Not only did the network cut away from a Trump rally, where he regurgitated the same lies and disinformation he’s always spewing, they also fact-checked it in real-time.”
Psaki went on to criticize the network, however, concluding, “You may be thinking, okay, this is a good sign. It’s not so simple, because one 30-second fact check is not going to dismantle the echo chamber of disinformation that helped them cement his hold on the GOP, and one that is still very active, as we’ve been talking about on this show.”
