GOP Senator: We Expressed Concerns to Trump That ‘Tone Matters’

A sitting Republican senator told Wolf Blitzer today that when he and his colleagues met with Donald Trump last week, they expressed to the presumptive GOP nominee that they have concerns about his tone.

Senator John Barrasso said that he and other senators brought up “the whole issue of tone in a campaign” and strongly emphasizing the issues that Americans care about.

Blitzer asked Barrasso exactly how he and other Republicans expect Trump to change his tone when his brash style has so far served him well in the political process.

The senator simply insisted, “Tone matters in a campaign, we’re gonna see what happens in the next 6 months”
