Gov. Deval Patrick: Boston Area Lock Down Is Lifted, Residents Can ‘Return To Living Our Lives’
Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick informed the citizens of the area surrounding Boston that the order to “shelter in place” has been lifted. In spite of the fact that alleged Boston Marathon bomber Dzokhar Tsarnaev remains at large, he informed residents of Massachusetts that they are free to return to normalcy. He urged, however, that residents remain vigilant for the suspect or suspicious packages.

“In light of status of the investigation here in Watertown and the developments in the course of the day, the stay indoors request is lifted,” Patrick told reporters at a Friday afternoon news conference. “The T is open effective immediately – the MBTA — effective immediately.”
He asked area residents to “remain vigilant” as Tsarnaev remains at large. Patrick added that unattended bags or packages should be viewed as suspect and reported to the nearest authority.
“Remember there is still a very, very dangerous individual at large, but we feel confident that, based on what we know about the status of the investigation right now, that, to that extent, we can return to living our lives,” Patrick added.
