Greg Abbott Fires Back at Wendy Davis Ad Highlighting His Wheelchair

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott appeared on Sean Hannity‘s show Monday night to fire back at Wendy Davis‘ ad bringing up the fact he’s in a wheelchair. Abbott and Davis are facing off in the gubernatorial election, and in a new ad Davis basically exploits Abbott’s disability to attack him for defending companies from wrongful injury claims similar to the one he filed.

Davis continues to stand by the ad (though it was too much even for MSNBC). Hannity found this to be “one of the more shocking ads” of this political cycle. Abbott mostly took the high road. He said, “If she wants to attack a guy in a wheelchair, that’s her prerogative.” He told Hannity he’s focused on solving problems, while Davis is more focused on attacks on him, and “false” ones at that.

Hannity noticed a common strand of ads unfairly attacking Republicans and wondered if Democrats are really this desperate.
